Our Boat and team

The boat we use at Kaikoura Fishing Charters is a sea truck powered by a 600 horsepower Yanmar twin turbo engine. The dimensions are 3.4 metres across the beam and 12.6 metres in length. The crew onboard will fillet the fish once caught and then put them on ice so they are ready to go once your back on shore.

Our boat is skippered by Tom, a fisherman who is passionate about ensuring every trip is enojoyable and safe for those aboard. He has an in depth knoweldge of the region and knows exactly where the fish will be biting.

The boat and compay is owned by Eion Fitzgibbon, a multi talented entrepreneur that plies his trade across both the fishing and building sectors. Eion believes that the safety of his passengers is paramount and the crew follow his example. Eion's strong leadership ensures that no trip goes out unprepared or substandard and every passengeer has the best time possible.
